Sports Injury Treatment
Get back in the game stronger than before
Sports injury treatment at One Stop Rehab helps athletes and active adults recover from injury, rebuild strength and confidence, and return to the activities they enjoy. Whether you are a student athlete, weekend runner, gym member, tactical athlete, or recreational player, your treatment plan is designed around the specific movements and demands of your sport.
Sports rehabilitation typically combines individualized exercise, mobility work, strength training, movement retraining, and sport-specific progression to restore function and reduce the risk of reinjury.
We can help with
- Sprains, strains, and muscle tears
- ACL, MCL, LCL, and other knee ligament injuries
- Meniscus injuries and knee pain
- Runner’s knee, patellar tendon pain, and IT band-related symptoms
- Ankle sprains and chronic ankle instability
- Shoulder pain, instability, labral injuries, and rotator cuff injuries
- Elbow pain, including tennis elbow and throwing-related injuries
- Hip, groin, hamstring, and quad injuries
- Shin splints, stress-related overuse symptoms, and calf strains
- Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon pain, and foot pain
- Low-back or neck pain related to training, lifting, or sport
- Post-operative sports rehabilitation
- Overuse injuries caused by training load, repetitive movement, or poor mechanics
What patients can expect
Your first visit
- An assessment of pain, mobility, strength, balance, and movement quality
- A review of your training history and the specific demands of your sport or activity
- Identification of what is limiting your performance
- A step-by-step plan to help you recover safely
Your treatment plan
Your plan may include:
- Pain and swelling management
- Mobility and flexibility training
- Progressive strengthening and stability work
- Manual therapy, when appropriate
- Balance, coordination, and neuromuscular retraining
- Movement analysis for jumping, landing, cutting, squatting, lifting, running, or throwing
- Sport-specific drills and conditioning
- Home exercise programming
- Guidance on modified training so you can stay active when appropriate
- Injury-prevention and return-to-play education
A well-structured sports rehabilitation plan progresses from restoring mobility and strength to functional movement and sport-specific training, rather than rushing directly back into full competition.
Return to Sport
Returning to sport should be based on functional readiness—not only the calendar or the absence of pain. Before full return, we may assess your strength, mobility, balance, endurance, agility, coordination, movement control, and ability to tolerate sport-specific drills.
For example, after a knee injury, a basketball player may progress from pain-free daily walking to controlled strengthening, landing mechanics, jumping, cutting drills, non-contact practice, and then full participation when appropriate.
Return-to-sport programs commonly use progressively challenging sport-specific activity and functional testing to help athletes return with greater confidence and lower reinjury risk.
Injury Prevention and Performance
Our goal is to help you recover—and help you stay in the game. Once symptoms improve, we can address the movement patterns, strength deficits, mobility limitations, training habits, or workload issues that may have contributed to the injury.
Prevention strategies may include:
- Sport-specific warm-up recommendations
- Landing, cutting, lifting, or running mechanics
- Strength and conditioning guidance
- Mobility and recovery strategies
- Training-load progression
- Cross-training recommendations
- Home programs for maintenance and injury prevention
