Pelvic Floor Therapy

Discreet, effective care for incontinence & neurological bladder issues

45–60 minutes (private treatment room)
6–10 visits over 6–10 weeks

Pelvic floor therapy at One Stop Rehab is specialized physical therapy for pain, bladder or bowel concerns, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and movement problems involving the pelvis, hips, abdomen, and lower back. Our care is private, respectful, and individualized—helping you improve comfort, confidence, strength, and daily function.

Pelvic health physical therapists address conditions involving the pelvic floor muscles and organs, including incontinence, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, and diastasis recti through personalized treatment plans.

We can help with

  • Urinary leakage with coughing, laughing, lifting, running, or jumping
  • Urinary urgency, frequency, or difficulty fully emptying the bladder
  • Constipation, bowel urgency, or bowel-control concerns
  • Pelvic pain or pressure
  • Pain with intercourse or pelvic examinations
  • Pregnancy-related pelvic, hip, low-back, or sacroiliac pain
  • Postpartum recovery after vaginal delivery or cesarean birth
  • Diastasis recti and core weakness
  • Pelvic organ prolapse symptoms, including a feeling of heaviness or pressure
  • Pain after pelvic surgery
  • Tailbone pain
  • Male pelvic health concerns, including pelvic pain or post-prostate treatment rehabilitation
  • Pelvic floor concerns affecting athletes, exercise, lifting, or return to sport

What patients can expect

Your first visit

  • A private conversation about your symptoms, health history, goals, daily routine, and any concerns you have about treatment
  • An assessment that may include posture, breathing, mobility, core function, hip and low-back movement, strength, and pelvic floor coordination
  • An internal pelvic floor examination is not required. It is performed only when clinically appropriate, fully explained, and completed with your informed consent
  • You can ask questions, decline any part of the evaluation, or request a change at any time

Your treatment plan

Your plan may include:

  • Education on pelvic-floor anatomy, bladder and bowel habits, and symptom triggers
  • Breathing and relaxation strategies
  • Pelvic-floor muscle coordination, strengthening, or down-training
  • Core, hip, and functional strengthening
  • Manual therapy, when appropriate and consented to
  • Mobility and posture training
  • Scar mobility techniques after cesarean, abdominal, or pelvic procedures
  • Gradual return-to-exercise, lifting, running, or sport guidance
  • A practical home program to support progress between visits

Our Approach

Pelvic floor therapy is not only “Kegel exercises.” Some people need improved strength and endurance, while others need better relaxation, coordination, mobility, and symptom-management strategies. At One Stop Rehab, your treatment is based on your evaluation—not a one-size-fits-all program.

We help patients connect symptoms to real-life goals, such as exercising without leakage, returning to running after childbirth, lifting at work with more confidence, reducing pelvic pain, or improving comfort with daily activities.

When to Contact Your Provider

Contact your physician or seek urgent care for new or severe pelvic pain, heavy bleeding, fever, inability to urinate, blood in urine or stool, sudden numbness in the groin or saddle area, new leg weakness, or loss of bowel or bladder control.
